TOKYO — Celebrated martial artist Takeru Segawa (34) announced his marriage to actress Aoi Kawaguchi (26) on Monday, sharing the joyful news with fans on Instagram along with a smiling photo of the couple.

In the heartfelt post, Takeru wrote:

“To everyone who has always supported me — I, Takeru Segawa, have married Aoi Kawaguchi. Takeru: From K-1 Legend to ONE Championship Warrior

Born on July 29, 1991, in Tottori Prefecture, Takeru made his pro debut in Krush back in 2011. He quickly became a star, going on to dominate K-1 where he won championships in three weight divisions — a rare feat in the world of kickboxing.

In 2022, Takeru headlined the mega-fight “THE MATCH 2022” against Tenshin Nasukawa, which he lost by decision. The event was one of the most-watched fights in Japanese combat sports history.
